Hey guys... need some input here...
I already got a Talica 50 for our main kite/spreader bar setup... has 130lb braid on it etc.
I kinda thought I was all set but now am wondering if I should have a 2nd set-up so I can run two spreader bars at a time and when fishing the kite, if we get hooked up we can get a 2nd line out ASAP.
We have a fathom 60 with 100lb braid on it so my first thought was we could use that but after research on here, it seems like that's not advised... I'm guessing the frame and internals just isn't up to the task if you get 150+ lb tuna?
So if that's the case, I need an alternate set-up... I'm thinking about NOT a 50 size reel but the next size down and keeping an eye out for a good used reel...
Thinking either the Penn 30 VISX, Mak 30, or possibly Talica 25 and throwing 100lb or 130 on it but want to know what you all think....
Ideally, want something that I could also utilize for bigger night jig setup too (the main reason I don't want another heavy 50 size reel).
What are your thoughts and recs?
Thanks!
Cole
