Back at it again... glassed in another layer of 3/4” marine ply to the inside of the transom along with adding some gussets to the stringers. Bracket is mounted and sprayed some Chromate aluminum primer on this morning.
Waiting on some parts so decided to prepare for their arrival. Drilled the holes for the rigging tubes and hydraulic steering hoses, filled in old screw holes in the bilge area and will paint tomorrow.
If you ever wondered how much glass is in the transom of a Skipjack, here is your answer... transom is a full 3 1/4” with the added ply and glass I installed on the inside. I’ll coat the holes with resin before installing tubes
Ran all the harnesses for both motors, Smartcraft cable and I am going to use the original engine harness to power up pumps and lights in the bilge. Had to glass in all the old gauge holes and redrill for the new ones. Need to sand the filler and paint the dash on Monday.
Still waiting for a few parts before I can button up the engine connections....
