Offshore 226/302/371 - . 4/24

Launched yesterday from SI at 6am with my FIL, picked up a scoop and pointed to the 226/302 in less than ideal seas. Stopped a few miles short of the bank to put out the trollers. Put out 3 spreaderbars and 2 daisy chains and off to work we went. Worked the banks for a few hours for Nada then pushed south to the 371 and worked there for more Nada. Pushed west from the 371 for a few more miles then back up to the 302 looking for slack tide surface life. Never found it. Only found 1 patty all day also. Water was 62. Dues have been paid!

Well aware of early season strikeouts. Expectations are always low but you never know!

Did the zero degree rod holder in the stern require anything special? I wasn't sure if I could fit one in that spot. I have a 17 angler - it's an 8' beam. The boat's dimensions should be similar.

Both were a pain in the ass due to that box that Arima has on both sides and also the angle of the walls. Also there is wiring all on the one of the sides so need to be extra careful on placement and drilling. One thing I recommend is those shorter rod holders ( Ithink grady makes some). We ended cutting one of them short and drilling a bolt through it. Made it fit much easier. Will send some pictures later!

Yeah same for me at the SSK. Saturday. Fish were caught Saturday at the 371, but not many. Back at it in a week.

I'm considering using this fabricator. If you could give me the length you cut to, that would be helpful.

thank u for the report it helps to read firsthand what's happenin out there! Love that boat I was thinking someday if I ever got a different boat that might be the one. What kind of mpg do you get ? Around $200 on fuel to run all day? I had a similar outcome Friday last week... hopefully things will change by this Monday

80-100 mile trips are 25-28 gallons. Most ive ever burned was 36. They advertise a 48g tank but if you actually look at the tank it says 43 so not really sure whats right

Arimas are great boats. Mr. Arima just passed away recently. RIP to a legend who created a very sea worthy, well built boat. ‘Biggest little boat’ around

My boat burns 3 times that, but I can troll more than 5 rods! ! Nice boat, wished I got that fuel economy!
