I'm planning on taking my girlfriend out on a 2 day trip this weekend but I'm concerned about the weather. She will be miserable if its raining. We are suppose to go out to the Colnett. Anyone know what the weather is like down south?

bottom fish bite rain or shine. bring some jackets, and get her a scopalamine patch or some scopace, seasick and wet is the worst you could ever feel. you should have fun rain or shine. if the fish arent biting then at least your gf will :)

Forecast calls for 20-25 knots and 14'-17' seas...probably not a good weekend to bring the axe wound.

A shitty weather trip could turn her off the sport for a long time. Personally I would go another week. Hate to have you hear it for

Thanks guys I was thinking the same thing. I want to make sure she has a good experience. We can always reschedule for a couple of weeks. If the weather is that bad I don't even want to be out there.

I would go, drop a yo-yo jig down and the waves will give it all the action you need.

Yeah, no fun out there the way conditions are gonna be. Schedule one between the weather and it'll probably be flatter than summertime. I love flat days out there in the winter but 14 foot seas and rockfishing is NO FUN!!!!!!!!!
