Left Koolina at 5am and headed to S Buoy to try and get some Opelu for bait. By 8 the plan for bait failed with only some Opelu. From there it was on to plan B. Dumped lures and headed toward Kaiena on the 500. Ran into the 40 at Kaiena and took a triple shibi. Lost 1 and landed 2, they were 15 and 20lbs. From there we headed out the double ball line up. Found some porpoise and birds played with them for a while with no love and came back in towards CO with even more no love. From CO ran into V and came into the 40 which we ran all the way back. Ended up taking 2 knock downs on the 40 with nothing sticking. Also ended up drowning a small kawakawa right outside Maili on the 40, he ended up hitting a 7" lure and was unable to break the rubber band.

Shibi that came off was on a 5" stick.

The other shibi was on a 7" strawberry bullet with blue outside orange yellow white inside.

The other shibi was on a lure I got from my friend Allan of Gaji Lures. Its his Bubble gum pearl.

The Kawakawa hit a 7" blue bullet blue outside orange yellow white inside.

Forgot to mention I went for a little bit of a swim. Watch the video and see what i mean. You can here me yell "Neutral Neutral" lol

    Nick, Pops and crew,
Thanks for putting another vid together; not the first time you've gone in the water. pretty spooky from 1 perspective. Good goin' on the shibis; even if you only had a few opelus you should have stayed there.

    Thanks
    Pat

Great video Nick! Glad that you ended up safe first, saved the gaff and even landing a fish in the process! That is why you gotta have a crew, for instances like these!

Glad that the "Bubble Gum" got you something, even if only for small kine Poke! Thanks for always doing a great job with the videos! I always check out the Hawaii section, to see what else you may have posted!
Be safe my friend and good luck!

Awesome video as usual Nick. Glad to see you got the gaff right back and you got back in the boat safely. Good going on the shibis, better then no blood in the box. Tight lines, J

Is that the old No Ka Oi III. I fished that boat from 1985 to 1987 out of maalaea. Caught plenty fish on that boat with Skipper Joe Yurkanin, he ran that forever. Great boat, Tightlines, Deliman

Being on the boat with my dad and no gaff would have been more nuts lol.

I think everytime we go fishing we always got bloopers.

    Should have been there...

Yet another terrific video, Nick. Thanks for that, and thanks also for posting pics of your lures. Now I have a couple of new ideas for skirt combinations.
