Launched this morning out of MDR and hit the usual local spots for a good bite on the bass. Picked up a few maks/deans along the way and then did a few drifts in 80-90ft. Got 1 short halibut and then hooked up to this shark. around 4-5ft guesstimated 150-200lbish.

Looks like a white. Too thick to be that short of a mako. Could be wrong

It kind of looks speckled but hard to see in the pic. Possible Salmon Shark?

Short billed blue marlin. Sure of it.

Should have taken the money shot with it.

I vote White, a young one. They are about four feet long at birth, and the SoCal inshore area is a known place for them to start out in the early months of the year. You will often find them in fairly shallow water, since the frequent grunion runs brings all of the different fish in close to have access to the bi-weekly buffet.

Nose looks too pointy for a white...probably just the angle.

Did you get a different picture?

My unscientific guess is you found a baby white, who will one one day hopefully a big white that eats many sealions.
