went to S, nothing, R, nothing, trolled in deciding whether to try bottom fish but it was early to turned back out to V. right place right time there were birds and porpoise when we got there around 10:40am, started to work the area and the ratchet went off but didnt stick. turned and ratchet went off again without sticking. third time was the charm. about an hour and a half later we managed to finally get it in the boat. had to cut off the head and tail because i only had a 150qt cooler . it was maybe around 130-140lbs.:starwarskid5:

lure was a 7 inch slant head with the holoholo black and clear glitter w/blue laser and purple pink on the inside.

Bill, not to speak for Randay, the FAD program in Hawaii is quite an extensive program (google it you'll find plenty of info) the buoys Randay mentioned are the closest buoys on the Leeward Coast of Oahu, sitting approximately on the 500 fathom curve, all within 5 miles of shore.

Excellent work, Randay! That's a nice catch -- pretty rare in the dead of winter. Congrats!
