Not bankers hours this time... Went to see about some bait; no go. Put out the spread, after some hunting had a weak double neither stuck. The second one must have gotten stung from the hook as it put on quite a show after coming off. Then a single, then a triple; by now its mid morning and we are 0 out of 6, not very good ratio.

Finally get a single to stick, grabbed the closest flat line, flat line bites, even with small fish, are pretty violent. OK feeling better now.

About 12:30 take another single, this time on the long rigger. This fish is a tad bit bigger than the previous fish, had to cut the bill and tail to put in the cooler, plus this one was a much nicer color as far as the meat goes.

The lures that needed some TLC after takin' some bill lashings...

That's a nice looking spread of lures. Getting the last two stripeys must have lessened the sting of having to fix all those up. Thanks for the report.

Looks like some tasty grinds Pat! How was it out there? The water looked kinda dark and choppy when I drove by that side.

Thanks Brandon, there may be some out there but we were in closer.

Thanks Jonny, it's been years since we've had to repair so many lures week after week. Lovin' it!!!

Thanks Jenson, yeah there's gotta be plenty; saw plenty of blue flags in the harbor.
    Thanks Eric.

    Thanks Brian.

Thanks Dean, the trades were trying to blow early but backed off as the day progressed.

    Aloha,
    Pat

    Nice catch Pat!
i think you gotta get a bigger fish box, summer time comes and you'll fill that one up in no time.
i see the old faithful lure is still in one piece and still producing!

Good going, Pat! You really have the stripers dialed in.

I was out there yesterday. The weather was pretty nice on the outside with 5-10 knot SE winds. The first bit of action happened at the 1500 pocket, with a striper swatting the long rigger a couple of times, bit it didn't stick. Ran over the pinnacle with a few porpoises surfing in front of the boat....nada. I headed out and caught a 25 lb bull mahi about 4 miles northwest of the pinnacle. Setup the lines again and continued west for a couple of minutes then took a nice strike on the right rigger. That one looked like a good one -- ripped a few yards of line off the reel until the line cut. The cable running through the bird had corroded and snapped. Oh well, live and learn. Stainless cable isn't really "stainless", heheheh. ;)

Thanks G, yep I'm shopping for one, there is one under the fish bags on the port side, but need one a slightly larger. The cooler (320 qt) just holds the ice so much better. As far as the lure, she's holding together, trying to be cautious with it when it comes in the boat.

Thanks Pupule, good goin' on the bull, sorry to hear about the misses, next time.

Thanks Nick, just curious did you guys go down to Keehi or Marisco for the haul out? I'm toying with the idea if I can't get the transducer functioning. Need it when the onos show up.

    Cheers
    Pat
