I agree about Jeff. I fished with him way back when he was the skipper of the Q105, maybe 20 ish years ago.. Very good captain with great fishing instincts

Yeah I talked to him over the weekend and got some good info tips for the trip. I now have a buddy joining me as well. I like the idea of getting a little rail time to break up the 4 day ride down to hurricane, even if its only a couple hours. The more rail time the better since 7 days to fish will go by very quickly.

I appreciate all your help Don. My friend and I are both really looking forward to the trip. The longest trip he's ever been on is a 5 day and he's never got a tuna over 100 lbs,but he's ready for it. I told him he is in for a big treat!!!

Don, you mentioned about replacing the split ring on the rear hook of the DTX, Do you know what size it is? It hard to judge size in the picture and I don't want to order the wrong ones. TIA

Ben, big guy... I fished a trip on Legend out of Seaforth many years ago. Deck crew was made up of some pretty cool guys, Aaron Barnhill, Matt Romaine and Ben. Wild day on BIG Albacore. Josh ran the trip and it was pretty chaotic with tangles. Aaron was working one and said: “I’ve seen 6 way tangles before, just never three at the same time!” Good to hear Ben has come along and now getting his shot. He’s been with the Indy quite a while, is that correct?

Watched the boat pull in this morning and then unload a healthy load of big yellow tail. Some serious brutes. I think the biggest one was 56#'s. Then back out on another trip. Turn and burn!!!

For you guys that go LR on the Indy, do they play music thru the PA while your fishing?

More specifically for the guys that go on Roger's Thanksgiving trip, does anyone bring a wireless speaker for playing music? I have one of those large speaker boxes that can be used for karaoke or just for playing music from an Ipod or phone. So I wanted to ask about our trip specifically. Yes or No?

No music from the PA. At times the crew may break out a small wireless speaker during those long hot days at the bank.

Ben is still on the Indy. He is in this photo of their recent trip. RP has not updated their crew page in years; notice John Collins and no Jeff?
