Some updates on the boat:

last bottom inspection: no blisters, no evidence of electrolysis, the bottom paint will need to be redone at the end of the season. all three bilges replaced recently and all working fine. trim tabs all good and very effective, the boat is so easy to maneuver with its small size and twin screws. glass is all clear, no hazing. boat has one working bait tank in the rear transom, another one under the helm leaning post that has been disconnected. all canvas and seat cushions new two years ago. So all clean with no tears. engines run to maximum 3400 RPM per engine specs. Port engine runs a little high temp at full rpm only, so may need to flush heat exchanger, but normal temp at cruise RPM.

combination center console and walkaround design makes it very easy to move around the boat. People have asked about the interior. Not much to say there, it is not a full interior like you might want with kitchen, bathroom, etc. It is basically a v-berth with a porta-potty on the side and some storage cabinets.

as far as trailering goes, it does not have a trailer. it is trailerable, around 7,500 pounds and width of 9'6". but not easy like a simple center console.

I did a search on yachtworld of all boats from 1997 to 2001 with diesel engines and between 28-32 ft. What did I find: the cheapest boat in California was $79,000 and the cheapest boat in the entire USA was $35,000 in florida.

The only reason I am looking to sell the boat is because I am planning to bring my other boat back to Los Angeles from San diego. I am using the boat regularly, everything is ready to go. stereo, VHF, radar, GPS, fishfinder all work. has autopilot, the hydraulics are working fine, but the control computer is not reading something correctly, may just be bad wiring. (raymarine smartpilot).

Did you verify if the bottom is cored?

web searches on pursuit boats tends to confirm that they did not use cored hulls. you will have to verify for sure on your own.

Quick web search shows they do... here’s a 1999 with issues and lots of water intrusion.... I can’t find when they stopped.... on line... you could look in your bilge and answer the question, so I am guessing maybe it is and you’re being illusive.

maybe we use a different web..

Not being illusive, just cant say for sure. I just dont want to misrepresent anything. Why dont you send photos of the difference in thru hulls between cored and non cored and i will check.

I did a bunch of research on Pursuits and paid for a survey w/ a moisture test on a 2003. This 1999 is most likely a solid bottom and cored from the waterline up just like the rest of the Pursuit line of this era. Quite a few manufacturers have produced boats in this fashion, Rampage included. This means the thru-hulls above the waterline could lead to water intrusion if they weren't sealed properly at the factory. Not a big deal regardless, I think this boat is priced well.

gotcha! Not sure if all you post is correct, do you know when they stopped cored bottoms?

I currently own a Rampage and did a lot of research and spoke to the factory. They stopped coring below the waterline in 2000: mine is 2002, so solid bottom. THT post above had some comments suggesting that the coring was below the waterline.... Other threads and discussions suggested some earlier Pursuits had cored bottoms like older Rampage..... That’s why I asked.... I had a buyer on my Rampage and was looking for my potential next boat, but do not want a cored bottom.

**** Edit** Spent the last 30 minutes searching and still can’t tell.... Lots of info that maybe it’s a solid bottom with coring above the waterline, then others that suggest different, and more info that depends on the year and who made it. Early models were made by sister company Tiara and had coring below the waterline.

Awesome boat! I just would need to know about the bottom.

update on my boat for sale. still available for sale at a firm price of $40,000. I have priced it as the cheapest twin diesel straight shaft inboard that I can find on the west coast. So I would expect that if you get if for $40,000 and even if you put some money into it, it will be a great buy.

The boat runs fine, starts right up and runs great in the ocean. Some things that will need to be addressed at some point:

    1) the bottom paint is due.
    2) the engine cooling systems could probably be cleaned (flushed). I did my own barnacle buster cleaning on the port engine and that helped keep it running cooler at full RPM.
    3) various water systems are not operating (wash down, sink, etc) - I just don't use them anyway.

    On the other hand:

    1) new enclosures and all seat cushions in great shape.
    2) garmin radar/gps
    3) refurbished windlass, bow mounted spotlight.
    4) full canvas boat cover.
    5) all metal work (bow rails, hard top aluminum) is great - no pitting.

the boat does not have a trailer and I would not recommend this boat as a regular trailer boat, although it can be trailered if you need to move it.

Other people have wanted to have more cabin amenities, and this boat has a v-berth, sleeping for two overnight and a porta-potty but no full head or kitchenette.

A great, economical boat for offshore fishing and none like it on the west coast.

Able to show it and test drive in Long beach.

the cuddy cabin has the typical v berth, it has a table that folds down to a large bed, the port side has small sink and the starboard side has a porta potty underneath the cushions.

Can you post a different perspective of the cuddy? I'm trying to picture the sink placement and what not. It must be larger than I'm imagining.

The boat really looks pretty sweet! Love Yanmars and the hours aren’t bad! Those air filters that come on Yanmars suck and always get rusty, the moist engine room and foam gets a little moisture on it and Viola! I’d throw those straight in the trash and put a set of Walker Airseps on it anyhow. The buyer was obviously a rookie, and doesn’t realize that a survey is on them... quick oil samples could possible tell a lot and doesn’t cost that much. The guy who bought my boat took oil samples and had a survey on his dime.... Sucks to spend the money if you don’t get the boat, but also could save a lot of hassles!

Good luck with the sale.... I keep looking at it and would like to have it, but would need a trailer and that starts adding cash.....

I went and looked at the boat today. Bitchen boat just not really what I’m looking for. Someone should swoop the boat up. The cabin is huge for how small it looks from the outside. If only it had a couple more ft of beam it would have been coming back to my slip.

the beam was posted long before you went and looked.... If you’re looking for 11’6” beam why waste his time?

It’s only been for sale for 2 years....

thought it might work for me it doesn’t, why don’t you buy a trailer and go grab it? He didn’t come down, he sent me the location to go check it out.

Gotcha... Just not sure it’s for me either at this price needing a trailer And other repairs makes it more than $40k all in... then there is the distance I have to travel to see. If it were in My own backyard it might be different... I have a couple others I’m looking at with twins, and a trailer for less... another couple years of moorage and.... if it was the cleanest best deal on the west coast it would sold in two years, so there is that too...
