Is the rod clamp supposed to be graphite or "iron alloy" per Scot's parts description or is it silver anodized aluminium? I've seen pix of the silver reels with a silver colored rod clamp. Mine was missing the clamp and it's being sent to me by Penn. Just wondered what the stock part is supposed to look like. Cheers...

Its sort of a matte-finish silver color.

    Craig,

The rod clamp for a 16VSX is stainless and electro-polished. The 16vs clamp is graphite. You should be receiving your replacement shortly.

The black (aluminum?) Torque 2-speed clamps also fit. A bit lighter, so maybe not as strong but they don't have the retain clip hole. Just another option.

This clamp is "sorta stainless". It still sticks to a magnet. High grade marine stainless will not stick to a magnet. My other marine grade hardware does not stick to a magnet. I'm sure the clamp will hold up fine but it is not 316-T.
