No BFT or YT for us.
    Water temps 60.7

A lot of bait and birds at the west 150 in the morning. We stayed there jigging our flatfalls and colt snipers hoping a breezer would come through the bait zone, and that didn’t happen.

Sometime mid morning we pointed to the rigs and saw the fleet LMAO. Then joined them for a while.
The Newport boats were there and the enterprise. Didn’t see anyone really bent, but heard chatter on the radio about a few that got YT.

Saw the birds eating tuna crab.

Kept picking up Mack’s on the flat fall FML

Headed back around 1:30 and ate some spray on the way back in.

Didn’t get what we came for but had good company and had fun on the radio. BTW- I was the one asking if there were any well hung gentlemen at the rigs. The dude that answered “speaking” had me LMAO.

Anyways, it’s always good to get on the water.
    Till next time...

thanks for the report! It was exciting while it lasted. Who would have thought BFT on the 150 in January or any time . Incredible that a few were even caught the days before.

My last boat I named "Goin'Seanile". Asking for a radio check - "This is the Goin'Seanile....radio check" someone replied "Where am I".

I was on the Native Sun last Friday. We watched the BFT bird schools but no love. PBers would always get to the fish first, though we didn't see anyone hook up. Late afternoon we went outside the rigs to a kelp paddy that a friend of Capt. Jeff radioed him had yellows on it. We got 3 yellows for the boat. I was fortunate to get 2 of them on yoyo iron, 6XJR. Amazing to have yellows and bluefin in our backyard, especially in January. They're still out there. Go get 'em!

Yup. It's been upgraded since Branny Ford ran it back in the day at MDR. I think it's the most comfortable fishing local boat on the coast.
