Offshore 14, 277, and Clemente 9th-11th

The report grabbed a scoop of cured dines from NP, best bait all year the stuff was incredible lasted 3 days, made some macs and off we went !! Went over the high spots on the way over and stopped on a few paddy’s for nada!
Worked the front for YT but all we got was bass and Bonita. Tucked it in Pyramid set up droppers with squid and macs no takers but if you put a dino on Bonita every cast !! Started trolling next day a black/silver yozuri that’s the color they wanted went 3 for 4 on the smaller grade YT and lost a 25 lbs model at the boat!
Front side and East end were the hot spots for us !! YT and Bonita would come up every few hours and crush the micro bait !!
Headed home in nasty conditions Sat trolling Rapalas, Cedar plug, Halcos. Ran with a huge school of pony’s and metered tuna below could not get them up!! Threw a big bag of small chovies we netted for chum but it was a no go. Switched it up to my Marlin trollers for shits and giggles and got a hit a little past the 277 but didn’t stick too bad our macs were dead.
Slow going due to really rough conditions and we believe a bad gimble bearing or ujoint in the lower unit, but we limped home safe and sound running 210 miles with a fun few days on the water !!

That's an awesome Pic of the Bonita, hope your vibration is nothing serious. I had the same problem in June I hope its not a Volvo as I'm looking at $15-20K and still not back in the water.

The Pin Head Anchovy can a bad sign looking forward I hope this is a one off I have seen fishing go south when these show up "at the receivers" they are great chum but hard to fish with they don't live well in the boxes and bait tanks they die easily when sloshed around or over crowded and they plug up the nets.

It’s just a dipnet totally legal in size and legal to use !! Read and know your regs ladies !! It’s the same when I post a good haul of lobsters and a bunch of losers post crap about over limits and stuff !! They don’t know crap about a multi day permit !!

Pinheads are great chum but hard to fish with if that's all they have at the receivers and they don't live that great in the boxes, your bait tanks and have to be fished on the lightest of tackle.

Oh yeah… I totally forgot..back in the day you had to put a 1/4 ounce egg sinker so you could cast them away from the boat.and the never swam good with a hook.
