Took my uncle and cousin out for their first ever private boat ocean trip. Decided to hit up my local LB rocks in search of some reds before season ended. I like my own rocks and avoid the normal haunts, since the fish tend to be bigger on my small spots.
We fished squid strips on pretty calm seas with water temp of 60.9. They pulled fish up non stop for about 3 hours. Most FRUSTRATING part of the day was when I turned around and my cousin was try to swing a 20/25 lb lingcod over the rail, only to watch it pop off the hook before I could get a word out. Oh well you win some you lose some. Could have rung her neck though.... only kept a few since I hate cleaning fish.....

The hydraflask in last photo is 11 inches long.

Good luck and safe boating to you all in 2019!!!

    Chris
