Our first time going fishing in a bout 3 weeks. We left Waianae bright and early like usual. We went down the 40 hunting for some bait and was only able to get a few. Seemed like a lot of predators on the 40 were feeding on the opelu because the pile was very spooked. Made our way out to the pinnacle and only found a couple scattered birds with nothing around. From there we made our way to the cup still hunting with nothing around there also lol. From the cup we angled in to Koolina and picked up a small 43lb stripe marlin, we would have let him go be he decided to get hooked in the gills and almost bleed out so we put him in the box. Ahab made the call and decided to run back down on the 1000 and we came across a big pile of the oceans guardians. Under them on the recorder you could see some good markings. We brought in the lures and decided to drop baits since there was already a boat working them with lures. Get the first bait in the water and a minute after that I get the second bait in the water. I just sit down and start rapping up the lures when the rubber band pops. Ahab was trying to hand me another rubber band and was saying how crappy that rubber band was. I told him hold on I think we got something. After the drop back came tight he started smoking line. Fought him for about 20 min put a 44 in his head and it was game over. Ended up weighing in at 153GG on a spring scale.

After getting the fish on ice and packed we set back up and made our way to the pile again. Dropped our bait and ended up playing with them for a while. We took another knock down but it cut the line on the run. Was an awesome day and Ahab out us on the fish again.

    Video to come
