Started our day 7nm nw of the 390 a gray light in shit box conditions that only got worse. From there we hit the 390-371-425-101-rockpile dragging marlin/wahoo jigs. Didn't see a single kelp all day in the gyros or any sign of life really. Water was 72.5 on the outside and cooled off to 71 inside and 67 at the pile. Just outside the 425 we did have a strike for a clean release on a striped marlin. The ocean did calm down considerably once we got inside toward the 371. Good luck and hope this helps someone

Have always like the 390 myself. This year has been a little different tho and has only been my 2nd trip out this way.

Yes today it was shitty out west this morning. Limits of sheep out there at gray. Maybe it layed down later in the day. By the time I got to the 371(9am) it was definitely improved. I left Friday at midnight and was out there first thing

Pictures never do the ocean justice but you can see there are plenty of white caps. This is at 7am just up and outside of the 390.

Any day fishing is good, any day catching is really good, but catching and releasing any trophy fish especially a striped marlin in November is a lifetime memory! Well done sticking it out for the one!
