Looks like the Punta Colnett bite is full speed - can't believe there's only one reservation for Sunday night's trip - mine! Good to see this is the third year in a row of great yellowtail fishing down there.

Good thing they're not fishing LA, chance of rain down there is less than 20% on Monday with light winds. Should be a very nice day pulling on yellers!

Good luck Mike! Can't go wrong on the Vag - looks like everyone got them good yesterday. Pac Queen ended up with 161 yellows, not a bad way to start the year.

Good luck. I m in NY on business!! Weather can be quit different. But even if no rain pacific storms push hard down the beach. Be safe. My buddy has a place in Ensenada!! Has a 22 cc there runs to Punta for YT all winter. He went sat morning 3 guys kept 10 let many go. Then they mostly wanted cow cod. They ran south to a spot got a few nice ones. One they estimated 20 was a beach ball!!!

Thank you guys for reporting... Needed my fix! Went on overnighter 2 weeks ago before closure on rockfish toronado funny how i was so geared and informed on big bft and forgot how to rockfish! Either getting early dementia or so far removed from other types of fishing for too long a time. Oh well hope this year will be more consistent and everyone catch lots!

I dunno, but I was down at the landing yesterday and was surprised to see the boat there.

Hey Bobby G! It'l be good to fish (drink?) with you again! LOL

    I'm taking 5 rigs.......2 - 50# (for Yo-Yo jigs) 2 - 40# (1 for bait w/sliding sinker, 1 for dropper loop), and 1- 30# (for rockfish).

......if I need something else, I'm just gonna grab Johnny's gear..... :D

Thanks for the tip:Heavy iron for yellows/reds/lings. Heavy torpedos for dropper loop. Have you tried heavy 12oz, 16oz leadheads for lings/reds and such...I'm going to try...

REALLY NEWBIE? For over 50 years I "manned up" any kind of weather
year round starting age 13 on Pac Queen with the Legend Eddie McEwen
who built her. I been out on that, BigGame90, Indian, umteen other boats
in shit you can't imagine fishing in. I've probably done more trips to Colonet
in some years than you will ever! OH YEAH I raced on a 37ft sailboat in
the 75 & 77 Transpacific Yacht Race from LA to Hawaii. Also a Vet 65-68.
I had balls before you were likely born. Know who you're talking to here
before making a total ass out of yourself bonehead! Got it? LOL LOL
Now 5 shoulder surgeries later, including a replacement last year,
ask me, do I really give a shit what you think? YAWN LOL Hell no. I'm 71 now!
PS Don's a great guy and we've fished together before FYI

See you all on the rail soon everyone! Tunahead

PS besides the Red Salas jigs the Red/Copper Back JAX jigs are killer too! FYI
Results below. LOL Yellows and Lings, Reds

Nice angry bio, thanks for serving our country. No mention of the Condor? Eddie retro fitted the PQ to make it a sport fisher and a legend indeed. Big Game 90 and the Indian not a good start to a rant did you forget the Seal beach barge
