Tough lips no doubt! Dang that was close.
Talk about "the skin of my teeth"...... Wow, great job.
I will never second guess guys wearing black socks again (unless one is dark blue and the other black due to color blindness)
Sharp hooks = better and faster hook set
You never gave up.
You worked Hard.
You caught a slob Bluefin.
You gave a great report.
great report and fish!
Nice Going James! Beautiful BF, and you did a Great write up
on tackle and technique!! An informative useful post!
Nice one James
I come here often to learn these types of details about how to target fish. Happy to finally contribute some information to the BD hive mind.
Awesome fish. Thanks for the report.
ahhhhh the beauty of this style of jig-fishing ----- there is nothing to get "snagged on" except FISH.
NICE ONE JAMES....solid work.
Awesome catch! was that a knockoff flatfall or a shimano?
140# X 15%, I'll give you 161.
Way to go on a slug. Just when you think it's time to rethink the strategy you change socks and get em!
Good job Rambo and crew!
Was a knock off that I got at Squidco. Initially had garbage assist hook braid, so Joey fixed them by replacing with wire. Turns out the fish don't look for the Shimano label before inhaling the lure.
Congrats, man! Beautiful fish. Thanks for the detailed write-up.
Great fish, way to go!
I have both. Reason I asked is folks have been saying that the knockoffs sometimes fail at the eye tye in front of the eyes. Thus eye use a hook assist tied to the line and a strong hook on the lure tail.

Your fish might have been legally blind.
