Shad - Recent studies conclude that too much lobster causes hairloss.

Debunked - I catch lots of lobs and have a full head of long hair at 54. :D

However - too much lobster (and tequila) does cause "the gout". I seem to be suffering from it at this moment!!!!!!!!!!

    125-175 ft.

    Macs for bait.

hoops are weighted with chain. about 7-8lbs in each one on inside ziptied. keeps them from moving around with the longer shots and current.

    hope that helps.

Damn, that's deep! I hoop around 75 ish in my spots. I weight mine too, it's a must at the island when the current gets ripping. At 175? Ya you need weight big time.

I may start exploring some deeper spots... you hear that @FloMar ? Get some 200'ropes ready

most of my shots are 250' and I am comfortable sinking gear up to 200 ft deep.

The shallow stuff gets picked over quickly at the island. I've also found that when the water has super warm cycles, the moulting cycle of the deeper bugs in the colder water seems better hence better grade. My thoughts so far this season.....

Nice buggin' and thanks for the info. Using chain and zip ties for hoop weights is simple and easy...

That's a bunch of rope to mess with though. What size rope are you using and what brand of puller?

the rope was money. I purchased 4 spools of 600 ft. at west marine a few years back that were deeply discounted. Maybe "New England" Poly braid in yellow. Will need to check diameter.

As for davit, it's the boston whaler commercial one with and open pulley block. I post a picture when I'm back from Oregon.
