just got back home this morning from "one of those long boat rides"!
we were down about 60 miles or so,were a couple of boats had some success the previous 2 days.
we had high hopes for BFs but they just werent there.
we seen a couple of areas birds were working but the BFs would spook as soon as we started to slide up.
idle down and gone!
seen a few paddys with no life at all.
so we trolled, and we trolled, and we trolled..... looking for any signs.
but it was dead!
zero bites!
anyway the captain and crew did what they could.
they were as bummed as we were.maybe alittle more!
but it just wasnt happening!
oh yeah, the water was looking good and clean and was around 64-65 degrees.
i hate to say it boys, and i hope im wrong, but its feeling alot like last year!

Had a few very good trips with Joel on the Conquest. That was a very nice little boat. Last time on the Relentless he had somebody else running it. We still got limit + fishing just not the craziness of Joel.

You went way to early, last year the water was dirty ,not clean and blue, and it wasnt 65 already. you should have waited till the end of july. dont whine and say "its just like last season" when you set yourself up for failure.

I have a 2 Day leaving July 18th and despite the lack of fish counts, I have a feeling things are gonna pick up pretty quick. The reports of warm blue water and not green bonita water tell me it's gonna pick up real soon....

It is a shame that Joel could not find the fish... But Joel is one of my favorite captains out there. Awsome guy and I really wish i coul get out on his boat more often
