Needed to get the engines up to temp to check a couple things out, the only way is to take her for a spin. AND since you gotta take her out mine as well put out the spread. After verifying the important stuff (probably around noon); ran out a little and set her up. The center went and came off; about a half hour later right at the early afternoon tide change we were attacked, the center went and came off, then I got to see both riggers go (that was pretty cool) both stayed stuck for awhile and then unbuttoned, then the center came tight and both riggers lines came tight again, as we were clearing lines, or after I got 3 turns of the handle on the port corner it came tight, even more cool 4 lines tight, the corner came off, the port rigger came to the boat, just as I leadered it came off, we got the last 2 1 maybe 45 the other maybe 50. The nasty pack of naughty-gis (Nairagis) missed a couple, released 1 (technically) and took 2.

    Good going Pat!

Chiming in here with another banker's hours report from the Eastside. Started off around noon at U, headed up to LL, only a few aku birds here and there. Lots of barnacle encrusted rubbish on the 1000, get to LL, not too much action but we find a small log in the area and pick up 5 rat mahi and a nice size aku.

First time back out on the water in a few months, felt real good to kill something. Looking forward to some pinbone and mahimahi tonight.

Way to go, Pat! Getting a couple of 'em in the boat when a whole gang of natagi attack is good accomplishment. Many years ago on my first boat we had a similar gang attack with all four lines going and all we got out of that was a big tangle! Thanks for posting and giving us all a vicarious 'fix' until we can get out on the water ourselves.

Thanks Mike, let's hope there are plenty of roving packs.

    Thanks Allan.

    Thanks Pupule.

Thanks John so how was the Mahi and the Aku bone?

Thanks Brandon, we don't mind getting attacked like that.

Thanks Brian, funny how things work out some times. We (wife and I) were originally going to fish Sunday, but she decided we had more than enough chores so we cancelled. If we would have went Sunday probably wouldn't have trolled after checking out the engines on Saturday.

    Thanks Spence.

    Thanks Cortland.

    Thanks Todd.

Thanks Jonny, maybe this La Nina winter will bring us a glut of Nairagis.

    Thanks Jim.

    Thanks Kekoa, exciting it was.

    Aloha,
    Pat
