Had a rough time making bait so picked up a half scoop at the barge. Mixed bait of chovies, dines and makeral. Went out to fish for Halibut. No butt, but caught a really nice Ling and my wife caught a killer sand bass!!! Both caught in around 60-70ft of water, and Both were happily released right before the hard outgoing tide. Ended seeing some big schools of bait, and some birds working, but nothing more than macs. Gonna try again tomorrow

Not in the channel, but wasn't fishing the kelp lines either, off the point a ways. Definitely still some kelp around though.
