Name

Boat
Sea Fox 248 Commander
Son, his friend and I launched slip at 345am.
nice dark, swift run to Backside of Cat. Set the pick on anchor in 80’ on nice bait and marks, off silver canyon. pesky slime sticks slamming our squid. after about 30 minutes of this, moved out to 110’ ft. nothing but a smoothhound for our efforts there.
Decided to hit the beaches for some flatties.
found a nice area that produced 11 fish with just 4 keepers. done by 11 or 12 once the tide filled in. another buddy boat hung around and caught another legal. yeah man!
tried one of the palisades beaches before cruising out. just a monster leapord shark (released) for our efforts.
nice to have a couple boats to work with tofay. thanks to my Son and his buddy. all three boats had similar reports on the halibut near shore. even heard one of the boats lost a nice seabass at color.

Water temps 58.1-58.8
lots of fin/micro bait working off silver canyon.
minimal squid on the ground.
good uphill current all morning.

Amazing January weather!
Go get’m!

I was the buddy boat next to you guys....
Had convinced my brother and his wife to leave the new baby at home and come out fishing with me for the day.

Managed to take home (3) keepers, with (4) or (5) shorts released for the day.

    Still amped about it!
Best weather/conditions and flatty fishing I’ve had at Catalina in......EVER!! 🙌🏽
