Work had been problematic and kept Kai'Nana from finishing off the year and also starting the new year the way she wanted to...

Mike and I pushed off around 5, plenty time for bait, slow at first then picked up. Ran out to the buoy and got some more out there. Dragged one around for good measure... Set the spread and headed to the unseen buoy, get there reel up and put a couple baits out (rumor is why). Stayed there til 11, while there saw a couple fish blow up mostly under BS birds when they'd come together.

At 11 we run out some and set back up the trolling spread, probably around noon get a call from a slip neighbor who's out as well... "some debris at [email protected]". Continue to troll for awhile, while heading there pick up a 15# aku. Eventually we reel up and run the rest of the way out. Mike puts out the standard Ika and also a smaller Ika, immediately get a mahi on the small ika. Get a couple shibis, smaller kine, eventually resort to live bait. Get some and miss some. Getting late so we set our sites on the barn, pull in just before the sun sets. We left the fish in the box, I went down there Saturday to clean up, hence the sunny pic.

Happy with the day, especially being the first run of the new year...

Cheers

Aku is that skipjack to us main landers?
Mike, yes, 20#'s and up are called Otaru, quite often pronounced Otado.

Chris, thanks, there are certainly worst places than Idaho, make the best of it...
Forgot what a mahi looks like good job!
Thanks Steve.

Thanks Jason, couldn't agree more, not too often, especially right up the middle.
Good going Pat and crew! Nice to hear fish coming up.
Thanks Jimmy.

Looks like dinner 👍🏼
We been getting some grinds on this side too.
Chance lost a nice Marlin last week with his cocaptain.
Destroyed his custom bird.
Just recovered from a bout of Sepsis from a flounder dorsal spike...
You were a motivation to get it taken care of !
Stay healthy !
Cheers

Thanks Mark, sorry about the bird, more importantly... SEPSIS, well now know a thing or 2 about that stuff. Some day we'll have to share the gory details. Glad your back on the healthy side of the fence...

Cheers
