I have also been hearing all sorts of storys that one guy and up to three guys didnt have there licenses wich was not us because u put out all the money and to not pay 45 bucks would be dumb...

$45? What? No Ocean Enhancement Stamp? Now, that would be dumb. Just for the sake of argument, wouldn't that disqualify the fish from IGFA (not having the stamp)? I wouldn't even bring it up (on a 2 year old thread) but you're the one that mentioned the $45. Irregardless...nice catch. Having a Mako that big next to my boat would bring on a major pucker factor.

I know that this is an old thread but can I just offer a to the idiots on here that are critical of these guys keeping this fish. We fish for a number of reasons sport,fun, and........(some of us) catch and release. I have never wasted a fish I have caught and kept nor will I allow anyone around me to. Congrats to you guys for catching that beast. Fish of a lifetime....and you donated the meat?? My god I would have bought it off of you mako is delicious! Make all the tree hugging bleeding heart libs go away already! Thats why I have to throw back lingcod over and over again in the gap.

The only difference between this mako and the recent 1323 is a couple more sea lions in the latter one's gut.
