Sorry for the late report, I had a party to go to yesterday at 5:00 pm and I didn’t get home from fishing till 8:00 pm, still made it to the party. Big thanks to Le tigre for relaying to the wify, and telling her we were going to be late.

Hit the 371 for nada, lots of boats working the area and nice meter marks but no fish wanted to play. Decided to go south toward the 425 and found a patty with lots of Dorado’s at 32/15 117/30 water temp was 68.4. I got one on the bait and lost two, trying to get my six year old hooked up with one. We worked that patty for over an hour and headed south again, while on the way someone gave out ## for yellow fin on the bite, 32/10 117/16 water temp was 71.5 .

In came the trollers and off we went, just shy of the numbers we saw boils, as soon as the cedar plug hit the water zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz hook up, my dad landed a 20 pounder…

Worked that area for awhile, I got distracted by a sword fish, this thing was huge. In came the trollers again. Rigged up the one and only two speed reel that I have, hooked a very lively mackerel and baited it four times. Twice the bait landed about five feet in front of it, the swordfish looked like it was going for the bait and just go around it (I just about shit my pants). We farted around with the sword fish for about 10 minutes and it finally went down, next time I hope. That really made our day, my six year is still talking about it.

Got to the numbers and there were a few boats working the area, we fished there for the rest of the day for one more at 28 pounds, also on the cedar plug. Fish were jumping every where, but couldn’t get them to go. I kept changing up the jigs small big different colors, different speeds, bait, nothing was working.

There was about four spotter planes flying around and at the end of the day I counted five Seiners on the way. All in all another great day out with my boy, Pops and oh yeah my brother in-law, sorry for the late report, better late then never right? Deno

Good deal especially having your son and pop along.
Did you try soaking any bait around the areas you were spotting the fish?
We've had pretty good results this season just stopping upswell (100-200 yards) from the fish and cutting the motor. Also, the tunes go off and we try to keep the stomping around to a minimum. Stealth is the key-that and a slow onesees-twosees with the chum (also an occasional handful of the dead stuff to help save bait if you have it).
If that doesn't get 'em boiling around the boat, big lively slow trolled (in and out of gear-hardly moving) sardines sometimes get it done.
This method works for me, especially considering how much I hate trolling - it BORES the shit out of me!
    My 2 cents...

Thanks for the info I will try that next time for sure, the way they were boiling I thought for sure I was coming home with limits. Yes we tried bait the radio was blasting and the engine running. I will try all this next time, thanks. Deno

Hey Deno, wtg on the nice day of fishin. The pics with the yft before it looses it's color is great. I'll have to pause between fishin to take better shots of fish. It's hard to do. Seaya!

WTG Deno. Looks like a great day on the water with the family--less the foul mouths.
