Fished the Islands Friday. Started South of South Island. Lots of bird action and the biggest "bait ball" of krill I've ever seen up close. Just mackeral though, so we moved to join the fleet (30 boats) on the lee side of South Island around 10:00 a.m. Not happenin' there yet, so decided to strike out on our own and go to the Middle Grounds.

Landed two Jellos at the Middle Grounds, one on iron around noon and the other on a flylined sardine with a egg sinker. My buddy got hooked on a nice one on a dropper loop, but got rocked after a couple minute fight.

Beautiful weather. 59 water. Wind kicked up early afternoon, then settled down. Bitchin' way to spend a Friday...

Way to go! I was thinking of going out tomorrow but with this bite and the weather it is going to be a parking lot there. I think I will wait until mid week and stay out of the mayhem. For those of you going, good luck and send out reports please..
