    1989 IMP 220 Sportsman

Gonna tap out for now. Realized the motor needs to come out this afternoon so I can address the exhaust pipe leak. Was hoping to do a quicky fix and get a few trips on the boat before winter sets in but it just aint happening. Having the engine out will give me time to clean up the engine...

    Mercruiser Exhaust Pipe

Thanks for the reply Shad. Just came to that realization after work today. I was tossing around the idea of epoxy/j.b. weld just to put a few runs on the boat but after locating the leak I realized I cant reach it at all. Going to just pull the motor and put it on the stand and plug away at it...

    Mercruiser Exhaust Pipe

I may be looking at the reality of replacing my exhaust pipe due to corrosion. I'm going to confirm the source of a small trickle of water running down the transom into the bilge while the engine is running on the earmuffs over this weekend. I'm assuming its a corroded pipe due to the age of the...

I see a few spots that you could fit some extra rod holders! I came across pics of your boat the other night and was gonna message you about it. Good to know there is a few guys out there to question about these boats!

    1989 IMP 220 Sportsman

Ran it on the ear muffs for a while and noticed a small pool of fresh water pooling in the bilge. Track it back to the transom and up to the area where the exhaust pipe bolts to the gimble plate and I find a big gob of silicone!!! Peeled of most of it but ran out of daylight to locate the source...

    1989 IMP 220 Sportsman

Hope to get it in the water down there within a few weeks. Ended up doing some side work the last couple days that killed my plans of working on the boat over the weekend. Probably gonna do Long Beach when the time comes and put in a day or two fishing and hooping.

The speeds sound good. I hope the fuel burn numbers get better when you hook up the flowscan. All the work sounds like it's paying off for you!

Mine just has the little rubber flaps on the outside of the scuppers to help prevent water washing back in. Not familiar with the duck bills myself.

What kind of fuel numbers are you getting with this setup and what kind of cruise speed and top speed? I have the 165hp 4 cyl. I haven't taken mine out yet but am really curious about fuel consumption.

HI, just came across some of your old posts and wondered if you still have this boat? I picked up an '89 IMP w.a. and was curious what kind of fuel consumption #'s you have. I have the 165hp version of the same motor. I see you haven't posted here for over a year but thought I'd roll the dice...

She pretty clean looking Skillett! Couple of questions, what engine is in it....and, do you have fish boxes in the floor? Mine does not and I'm curious what is under the deck on either side of the fuel tank. Check out Pass the Soy Sauce up above, he has a fiberform that looks to be from the...

Hey, post some pics of your boat if you have some. I have an Imp 22 wa that is from the same mold and im looking for some pics of similar boats. There is another guy on here with a fiberform that is identical. We both have a thread going on the "check out my boat" forum.

My transom fishbox is almost the full width of the boat instead of two separate boxes. If I'm correct, your auxiliary tanks are above the deck, built into the sides of the walkaround? Hope the project is moving along well. I keep finding those little things that need attention as I move along...

Fuel lines done. Originally the boat came with 13' of 1-1/2" fill hose that would cost a shit load to replace nowadays. Replace 8' of that length with 1-1/2" aluminized steel pipe that a friend made at his fuel tank shop. Cleaned it up and gave it a good dose of rubber undercarriage coating and...

    1989 IMP 220 Sportsman

Finally decided to start documenting my new project. Not so sure it'll come out as nice as the other boats I've followed here over the years but maybe it will help somebody. I've been sitting on this for close to a year and am just now getting to it. For now I'm just worried about safety items...

Looking for material suggestions on bilge and bait tank plumbing. I've got a mixture of vinyl braided tubing and a ton of sch. 40 pvc pipe and slip fittings. The wood came out nice! So, does that transom fish box have two overboard drains on either side of the boat? Somebody cut off half of my wood lids and slid in some Plano style tackle tray organizers. Seems like an ok size fish box for rockfish but it'll never do for tuna etc.

I've got around 40 gallons sitting in mine but its been less than a year so I should be good. Added some Stabil and towed it around to slosh it up. Keep the pics coming. Nice boat! I haven't started a project post yet but I've got an '89 IMP 22' and the lines on these two boats are nearly identical. Doing the fuel lines today actually. Where are your aux fuel tanks mounted?

Thanks for the pics! I just picked up a set of the same lights. About how much of the float sticks up above the water surface? Also, did you ballast them or does the weight of the rope take care of that? Thanks again, nice setup.

Is the GAMESAVER vacuum sealer any good?

I have the Foodsaver too, not the gamesaver. Once in a great while it won't pull a good vacum but that is rare. Only suggestion would be not to store it with the lid "locked" down...it collapses the foam-rubber seal too much and leads to the above mentioned problem. Other than that I really like it!

Lost a net at Catalina 11/28

Chad Gee/ Fishhawk...thanks for clearing that up. I kind of expected something like that, the 250' deal makes even more sense that it's a lost net. Now I just need to find a few Eclipse "floaters" that nobody claims so I can try those things out without having to pony up the $$$ to buy them...

    I've got crabs

Went out Sunday with a friend from work and my brother on his boat for some fishin/hoopin.
