    An interesting read about one persons observation of sharks....

    Don't need cable leader at all. You hook so many of them, and a lot of them are lip hooked. Have to fight them all the way to the boat to get a cut-off. Once or twice--fun. Any more than that is a lost hook and a waste of time and a good bait.

    Actually there are only 29 current species in Genus Cheilopogon---there are 64 recognized flying fish species in the Family (Exocoetidae). Haven't a clue if they're all good to eat, but any I've tried have been excellent.

    Great report. The fish is definitely a surgeonfish (Acanthuridae) of some type. You can easily see the "scalpel" on the caudal peduncle parallel with and at the surface over the vertebral column.

    Is there a need for a 60lb set-up?

    60lb can be a great outfit to fish medium sized tuna---fished most of a trip to Hurricane Bank last Jan with 60lb. Got a 173 and 175---it gets bit much more readily----the rub is that you'd better be in just as good shape as the fish or you get your ass whipped. It's more fun, but more work.
