Amazing how it goes from lockjaw to wide open. We have been there and done that. Timing and position is absolute. Although tides make some difference and so does current, applying the stats to consistency is mind boggling. Lousy tides and good fishing, great tides and lousy fishing, current is...

So I spent Wednesday evening with Morris at his Townhouse in Huntington Harbor where his boat is slipped. We left the slip containing his 26’ Skipjack, the “Jugular” at about 3:00am. As we exited the harbor, the seas were calm and the skies very overcast. Morris called Long Beach Carnage and...

So we went fishing on the Rubber Ducky, with Captain Lal, Thur. 07-25-19 and crew Mark. We launched out of Davies in Long Beach at 5:45 am. Rain drops were falling on our heads as we exited the flat calm harbor. There were one foot seas with no wind, the forecast called for 4-5 knots of wind...

Almost four weeks between fishing trips, created an enormous itch for both of us, which had to be scratched quickly, as the Ducky is going into dry-dock for 6 to 8 weeks and being given a whole new look. All new pontoons! Normally Pontoons last ten years, despite unbelievable usage over fourteen...

Horseshoe Bass wide open Friday 2/22/2019

Looking at your water color on your few pic's apparently overnight the water rolled and became a chocolate green color and the Bass completely disappeared? Lal and I wonder where they go. The off color water lasted until you entered the harbor where the chocolate was gone and just remained...

    Rpt-Sat.-02-23-19 Limits of Frozen Bass!

Almost three weeks between fishing trips is hell, which describes the weather lately. Well we need the rain and of course the Ski resorts need the snow. We have to live with the weather Gods. So I went fishing Saturday 02-23-19, with Lal on his 18’ boat the “Rubber Ducky”. We launched out of...

    Colonet Intel

Surprising you caught Tails on the dropper loop, the anglers on our boat fishing bait only caught rockfish and with the rapid drift often donated their sinkers to the rocks. You are absolutely right on for arms falling off, mine cramped up numerous times. Fish hard, catch fish. Congrats.

And with age comes slow healing too. Glad you made it out and caught some. Hope the finger heals quickly.
  456. Tunaslam

    Is it me?

Good effort, Bass bites are often unpredictable, here today gone tomorrow, come back in a couple of hours with better conditions, That's why you need numerous stones and structure to cover, while waiting for the bite to begin.
  457. Tunaslam

    They’re still here....1-26-19

Epic Horseshoe Day 1/23/19 - Plastics Comparison

Hi Dr. Bob, great to finally meet you out on the water. As far as Plastics go yesterday, anything was going to get bit. The Bass were in a feeding frenzy that cannot be compared. We metered bait ball after bait ball, surrounded by hungry Bass and whatever was in the area. The storms must of...
