FYI Benjamin, 99% of 'Kosher salt' has nothing in it but salt. No Iodine, no anti-caking crap, nothing. That's why it's 'Kosher'. I mentioned I only use Mediterranean sea salt for similar reasons. It's got nothing else in it and I think it tastes better. Eric, here's why I prefer the dry...

    Dry brine smoked salmon

Ryan, I do mine pretty much the same; I prefer Mediterranean sea salt, and I season with black pepper, garlic powder, crushed red pepper flakes and ginger powder, while it's in the drying (pellicle) phase. Adding spices in the brine.. they just seem to get lost, IMO.

Looking to borrow 4lb Cod Weight Mold

I've got a 3lb, if you want it. I'm just down the hill from you in Auburn. I've fished 500-600', with 3 lbs and 65lb braid and been fine. If the wind is kicking up, keeping the kicker in reverse solves the drift issues. 300' and four pounds sounds like someone is yanking your chain.

Looking for a good, lightly used powerhead or used engine

I have an older oil injected merc 2 stroke sitting on a pallet. It needs a little work-- The cavitation plate has a chunk out of it (could be welded or other)and I think it needs a stator. I say that because it was missing a bit when I took it off the boat and I had replaced the original with an...

((CONCLUSION)) **UP DATED**Boat trailer towing/tracking poorly

How long is the tongue ? A short one would account for the high weight issue, and they certainly won't track as well. My last trailer-- Initially purchased it under the boat without brakes. It towed poorly from a lack of tongue weight, and an obvious weight distribution problem with too much on...

    Marking your line

Don't they make colored line for this sort of shit? Oh wait, they do! The line is color changes at given intervals. Look, problem solved.

    Neah Bay Salmon report please?

The NOAA forecast changes daily! Now it looks like little wind but 7' swell on a tight interval. I'll hope it's better tomorrow. Either way, heading that way wed night and we'll see from there. Sea'scape (think sea escape) on 68. Hope to see some red and white stickers on the water. :finger:

    Dinner treat tonight

I'm going to add the harp. I went out yesterday from Westport and we got our kings. I did a good, but not great job of filleting them. My 18# king's harp (the backbone and ribs) yielded 14 oz. of (cooked) very tasty albeit broken meat. I opted to put some of Tom Douglas's rub on it and put it...

    First the Ankle, Now #3

Here's a thought.. Wilson will earn millions upon millions in endorsements throughout his career as long as he plays for a winning team. If he were to stay in Seattle for the minimum, allowing for better teammates, he'd make a shit ton and collect a bunch of rings. Hmm... He'd just have...

    Tuna Monday Who's Going?

The temp is there but the clear blue is a ways off yet. Regardless, I'm getting my (real, not cobbled together, piece of shit) bait tank Sunday and installing it next week. Looking for a window after the fourth!

    Wanted: small engine repair

So a few things to try. Change both plugs. Remove, drain and clean the carb bowl. Make sure not to screw up the little gasket that goes on top of it. Remove the air cleaner and run it without it. If it's the least bit damp (and why I asked about it sitting outside) replace it. If it still...

    Wanted: small engine repair

I'm pretty sure I could fix it, Model # etc. would be helpful. I'm going to assume you neglected to drain the gas from the carb bowl. Was it stored outside? Wait, and now you're just thinking about watering your grass? All of our irrigation systems have been up for at least a month... . . ...
