I have twins, so I’d have to install two separators. One to each engine. I called West Coast Marine, and they told me the same thing. Priority is going to be installing separators, as soon as possible. They told me without them, I will find myself cleaning those carbs out on a regular basis.

Yes… pulled plugs while engine was running. It was running a little rough. Ignition seems okay, and the issue is only noticed at idle.

As in, synchronization of the carbs? I don’t believe that is the issue on mine. I only say that because I’ve already confirmed those cylinders I’ve indicated are MIA. I’m going to take it out and run it for a few hours, then check the same cylinders. I will post findings, after I get back...

If I run it good, say maybe 10 hours total time at recommended cruising RPM, any chance I may damage any of the cylinders? Never really had this issue, and I’m a “new to me”, Yammie Owner.

We got some decent wind and chop coming in the next few days, but maybe I’ll take it out to the big bay and run it good for a few hours.

I was just thinking that exact same thing. I’ve got a whole canister of Quiklene in the fuel tank and some fresh fuel in it now. I just haven’t had a chance to run it to see if it will maybe clear it up.

Just at idle, and all plugs were replaced with full services. Plugs look good.

I’ll take some pics and take a closer look at it next time I work on it, so you can get an idea. But, yes, I would like to get rid of all the inline fuses, and wire them to the 12 fuse block. I don’t like how messy the wiring is, especially with all of those inline fuses everywhere.

The helm pump appears to be in good working condition. But those seals at the cylinder were definitely gone. Hydraulic fluid seeping out, along with some air. Super fun.

It was fairly easy, once I took the bracket off. I used a gear puller to take the bracket off. I also had to use a 15” 3/8 breaker bar to get the seals to loosen up. Fairly easy project, once that bracket came off, though.

Those were my thoughts, as well. It has twin 100’s for power, but I’m considering just getting it rebuilt, if compression is in fact that far off, especially in cylinders two and four. I’ll report findings later in the week after testing it again. Other motor had 185-190 psi across all four and...

Bait didn’t roll on my trip. Bait tank was “accidentally” emptied. As in they dumped all the bait. Which forced our charter to return to Point Loma, re-bait and head back. Lost the whole night bite, as a result.
