Yeah - I can't stand trash left on these sites - always bring an xtra 50gallon trash bag and fill it. The soap stone oven is way way up that river bed about 3/4 to top of hill

If you hike way up that river bed - there is a huge soap stone oven that was carved - it's way back in the thickets but it's pretty incredible to see. No idea on the dozer rough rode - if stupid Wrigley family turns this into a "hike-in" site instead of "boat in only" - we fucked

Stay away from the clowns... I mean crowds and you will do a lot better without any headaches. As mentioned - locate some structure. Problem with structure out of the harbor is - it's covered in commercial gear now. Also - Frontside of catalina gets better and better after the opening week...

It's never automatic - well some spots are but just a tip - try to find structure areas away from the breakwalls and islands that everyone else hits. There are some decent rockpiles out in the middle of inside LB harbor - just need to find them. Also - I'm no marine biologist - but I did talk...

Use your radar - look for a big boat drifting in the middle of nowhere

less bugs on backside - surprised you didn't run over a commercial trap they are every 10 feet across the entire backside. commercial traps crush the lobster on the backside but the bigger ones can't fit in their traps so they are around for sure.

It's just a simple 3 page document that needs to be signed by both parties and notarized by court of law. Typically - they will request a fecal matter sample after digestion. Unless you are talking about giving them to another boat on the water - you have nothing to worry about.

Avalon Moorings (along with Descanso and Hamilton) are owners and can use their moorings - just not visit shore. The rest of us peasants are just considered leasee by the Catalina Island Company in all other coves and told to fuck off.

A few neighbors are on their moorings in the Isthmus - I saw the Catalina Island Company release - looked like residents only mooring (Avalon) and Two Harbors were telling boaters not to visit shore. HH Fuel Dock had diesel at $2 Friday as well.

No issues leaving HH - the weather was a little lumpy but the reds bit very well in 400Ft+ on a few spots past the outside rigs. Only one other boat spotted on the grounds.
