This has been a strange year locally !!!!

We were out Thursday too. Horseshoe LB area out to the 150. Total for 3 was 1 calico-3 1/2 lb and 1 red, and 3 coppers-2 lbs. Worst day this year. We stopped at Izors on the way back for 1 hour-NO bites-water was 62.1

Mark and I were out today also. WWe got 20 bass over 2 lbs with a nice gold color calico that went 5 lbs. the rest were 12-16 in sandies along with 6 reds-2 lbs 1 johney bass and assorted other small rockfish. Beautiful day on the water , water at PV was 61 and rocky pt was 62.8-fermin was 57.2.

Fish were pretty small for this time of year, usually much bigger !!

Went out to the outer oil rigs for some rockfish-started blown to 20 kts. Couldnt get to the bottom with heavy jigs but managed a calico, sandbass, red, and a barracuda at the shoe on the way in. Water was 60.7 degrees-never seen it that cold this time of year--we got pretty wet on the way back !!

Took big Dave today up pv area for wide open calico fishing. They hit red flake and the JP jigs every cast for 3 1/2 hours. Over a 100 fish with great weather til noon !! All fish released-largest was 4 lb calico with lots of 2-3 lbers.

The coldest water i have ever seen in the summer months !!!! Sure hope the tuna come up the line this month !!!!

Water temps went South--53.6 out at the 150 and 55.8 at the shoe. Inside the harbor was 61. We only got one bass and some small rockfish.

We all know that caught fish at 140 ft-many wont survive when released. My point was telling everyone-sport boats take thousands of fish each day. I havent heard fish dope was telling everyone on that site, most people dont have fishdope. Just dont want to see all the fish go away in a month !!!

Slow for Mark and I but we managed 30 bass-mostly sandies to 4 1/2 lbs. Headed back before the wind started and hit the Farm-nothing. Solid 3 1/2 lb REDS , then the 150 for some dinner. Solid 3 1/2 lb REDS on the JP jigs. Had the kids over tonight for dinner- they ate it all !!!

My neighbor showed me how they fix fish tacos-Cambodian style . Steam with lemon and garlic with a few hot peppers, pick meat off bones for tacos--really good !!! Other wise deep fry them crispy !!!

Back when the sand bass were spawning at the flats K-man and I caught 300 fish on several occasions.

Took out the improved rubber ducky to the Shoe with friend Mark.Late start at 6;00am, tide change at about 7;30 Low. At 7;45 the bite went off the charts-for almost 3 hours it was a Calico every cast up to 4 1/2 lbs. Many orange mouths -spawning mode is here !!! What a fun day on the water...

Have not heard of two doors area ?? Where ?? We baptized the ducky on Monday with similar results-50+ bass, mostly calicos. Our temp gauge only said 61.6 at the shoe-61.2 up PV a ways. Thanks

I got a ride with Rich on the 21 ft Taxfree with richard , Mark and me. Nice weather all day with little wind. Fished the upper shoe for a slow pic but had a few flurries of good bassin !! Water was getting clear but a little green with the temps going to 62 in the PM. Got some nice calicos 2-4...

Cory had to go back to OR for a shock to get his heart back to sinus instead of A-fib. Doing well and probably go home tomorrow !!!

He is doing good but has to go back to the Cath lab for a pacemaker this afternoon. Easy 1 hour procedure to get his heart rate up. I got one 2 years ago-doin fine.

Awake now-short walk-some sips of soup-and some sleep with pain !!

H made it through surgery OK, but is sedated til tomorrow to help with pain !! WTG
