Is anyone planning on doing any inshore fishing in San Diego from July 31st to the 3rd? I’m good for gas and bait money and know my way around a boat to be able to help out and will help clean up too. Just got some time and want to throw my iron at some bass or yellowtail for a while. PM me if...
Nice! Yeah that’s what I was thinking, I’m going to go down to the bay and test out some jigs today and I’m going to play with the pro gear! I just got done servicing it yesterday for an upcoming trip. It was a hand me down reel from my dad years ago, but it feels like it’ll cast a mile after...
I don't feel bad for releasing the fish. Those guys can pound sand for all I care. I care more about protecting this fishery than their personal feelings. So pretty much I'm done trying for sockeye this season. It's pretty difficult when the tribes don't lift their nets. Oh well.
So the end of the day total. 0-sockeye, 1- wild chinook landed and released by the guy fishing next to me. I netted it for him and unhooked it, then released it. Then proceeded to get harassed by every person on the bank for "making" the guy let it go. Idk so much for doing the right thing.
Haha had to be a dad yesterday. My daughter woke up with a fever so I didn't get out there, my buddy went by the soccer fields and said it wasn't very good. Just a couple people with fish.
Damn, yeah I've been thinking the same thing. I don't know what is holding them up right now. Very possible it's the low water or even possibly the water temp. But 60 fish in the trap isn't bad, yet isn't ideal.
I went yesterday morning to Young's Bar, saw 3 fish get pulled in the entire time I was there. Saturday's count at the fish trap was only 60 fish. So they're coming, just not in high numbers yet.
That was well before my time out here in the PNW. I was most likely fishing on a shit show open party cattle boat down in So. Cal! :zelfmoord:fighting0061:
Haha basically that I joined the Navy and spent about 2 years from home doing boot camp, training and living in the barracks at my first duty station and didn't even look at or pick up the bow. So essentially I lost my interest in using it at all. I just wanna get rid of it so that someone who...
Selling my Bear archery "charge" compound bow. Comes with Trufire anodized aluminum release , 5 carbon fiber blunt tip arrows and a Plano case. Asking $300. It has hardly been used, I bought it thinking I was going to have more time to practice and what not. Then the Navy happened and everything...
Sounds about right, judging on the water clarity further up the river it should be pretty damn clear down there. So pull out the shy gear and get ready to finesse some salmon in! Haha
It's a great time if you put the time in to learn the different techniques of fishing for these fish. Plus there is a damn good diversity of fish you can catch out here!
Thanks, that's pretty much what I've gather by talking to a couple people. I went down the Sol Duc with a guide and I can tell you that I would crap my pants if I ever tried to row that thing! Haha
Have you heard any reports out of the Bogey lately?
I'm looking to go out to forks in a couple weeks. I understand the Bogachiel is a normal drift and the Sol Duc isn't even an option for me at my skill level! I'm not looking to feed the river, so what are some of the safer drifts?
Thanks!
