The Searcher does not. Some of the other long range boats do.

Searcher 7-Day Report, 9/26-10/3, Guadalupe Is

Good question. The days were pretty long, so there wasn’t much effort at night. We tried a little with no luck. However, the daytime action usually started shortly after dawn. I hooked one on my first cast, which Captain Mike described as “probably a hundred pounder”, fought it for an hour...

Searcher 7-Day Report, 9/26-10/3, Guadalupe Is

I just returned from the Searcher 7-Day trip to Guadalupe Island. We had a great time catching a good number of quality Yellowfin Tuna and Yellowtail. I am always apprehensive when going to Guadalupe, knowing how difficult it can be to fish at this beautiful Island. It has a challenging...

    Searched Accurate 4 day 7/18-22

They run good trips. I’ve fished with them for many years now and always appreciate their quality service and determination to catch fish. Captain Mike has run trips for two years now and on both the 7-day trips with him I’ve had a good time and great catch (quality YFT at the Loop in 2019 and...

Searcher 7-Day Report (good fishing, late repo)

I think we would have spent two full days there so everyone could get limits and then leave. Also, most long-range boats were there, due to very warm water at the Ridge and Rocks, but no one located the really large Bluefin. Everyone would have probably kept looking for them. We flew the...

Searcher 7-Day Report (good fishing, late repo)

During the first week of October I returned from a 7-day trip aboard the Searcher out of Fisherman’s Landing in San Diego (yes, I’m late in posting this). Since long-range fishing is measured by fish quality, quantity and variety, it was a very successful trip. A daily summary includes: Days...

    Searcher 10-31 - 11-8

Thanks for the detailed report on my favorite long-range boat. I’ve been on the Searcher a number of times and they do a great job. I do 7-day trips and last year at Guadalupe we killed the YFT. I got 13, all 30-60 pounds. This year we fished SCI and got limits of BFT and then headed to...

    Searcher 7 day

Some of the food included seared fresh Ahi, Yellowtail sashimi, fresh Wahoo Tacos, Ahi poke, sheppards pie, marinated beef and pasta, steaks, prime rib, lamb, eggs benedict, omelets, pancakes, eggs to order, fresh baked goods, a wide variety of fresh fruit and lots of very good deserts, with my...

Searcher 7 Day Trip Report - Great Fishing!

We actually found empty kelps the first day on the way to Benitos and Cedros, but when we got to the Islands it was game on! After only one day of limit style fishing for Yellowtail we went back out and the kelps were very much alive with Dorado and Yellowfin.

Sorry, this was my first post and I couldn't figure out how to get them in. I do have a few. Do you know how?

Searcher 7 Day Trip Report - Great Fishing!

Searcher 7-Day Report September 29 to October 6, 2012 For the tenth year in a row I went on a long-rang trip aboard the boat Searcher. As with the past nine years, it was a successful trip. Due to very warm water (up to 87 degrees) we avoided the usual destinations of the Ridge or...

    Rod Recommendations for Accurate 400?

Recently a friend gave me an Accurate 400. It's a great reel and I'm planning on using top shots of 40# and 50#. I was wondering on what would be a good rod to use with it. I was thinking of a 7' Seeker of some sort. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
