I started w/ a Calstar 800m. Tried a 100JMag and was a pain in the ass to transport and use. I now have a humble Seeker pinhead Ulua 93h and love the rod. 9' is my max anything longer is just a pain in the ass.

The SKB is over kill for local trips (anything under over night trips). The SKB is a bitch the lug around. I also used the Blackmoon back pack but it's an over kill for me. I just carry a maxpedition back pack and call it a day.
