    I love my 8 foot for calico swimbaits. It is stiff for sure but it makes a great swimbait caster. I have thrown sardines on it as well in a pinch. In my experience they have a nice bend as well and pull really hard. For the price you cant go wrong.

    I personally on the yak use a 270-8h all glass and love it. I fish from 20 to 30 on it (sometimes 40 in a pinch). It casts swimbaits great as well. I love the backbone that it has but it also has a nice soft tip that absorbs headshakes very well. Good luck -Johnny

    If you want a lighter Rod I would reccomed the Phoenix abyss series. PSX-809 for the 8 foot rod and PSX-909 for a 9 foot. They are more on the parabolic side and are very forgiving. They are also great because they throw jigs for miles. Good luck.
