Offshore MLPA 2.0 - AB3030 Leads to Large Scale Closures Round 2

TIP: If you actually want to make a difference email your senator IN YOUR OWN WORDS! They set filters for the mass email chains and they all go in the trash. If you write your own email they have to read it.

Thanks Don, it’s great to know the history behind the boat! She is “done” now and has been treating me very well. Let me know if you find yourself in SB and I’ll take you for a spin.

    Farallon 25 rebuild

Thanks skiffdude! Haven’t launched yet, I’m shooting for August but I will post numbers when I have them. I have had an overall good experience at seaboard however, I have done 95% of the work myself wit the exception of custom shaft strut, engine mounts, drop in etc. They do good work but they...

    Farallon 25 rebuild

All valid concerns, I raised the decks about 8” to avoid the water coming in the “scuppers”. I will also have drop in boards where the walkthrough is. I rhino lined the aluminum stanchions and drilled drain holes at the bottom.

    Farallon 25 rebuild

A few reasons, reliability being the biggest. I am tired of outdrives! I’ll sacrifice a few knots for a reliable package any day. Fuel burn will be less than 8gph @ 20 knots which works for me. I also wanted the engine forward to free up fishing space in the stern. I bought the engine from...

    Farallon 25 rebuild

Just the repower part. They took it upon themselves to work on the boat while I was gone for three weeks which I wasn’t too happy about but what’s done is done... Still waiting on the invoice

The fittings you see in that photo are Fill, Return and Vent. The pickup is all the way aft and in the corner picking up all "gunk" then run through a multistage fuel filter.

    Farallon 25 rebuild

Rowdyrosco a few reasons. 1) Weight- Had an " O shit this thing is going to be heavy" moment.. 2) Cost- I got a good deal on the 1" canacore ($70) a sheet 3) Flexibility- I was able to glass the bottom and still bend the full sheets in, minimizing seams.

    Farallon 25 rebuild

Thanks for all of the info, After doing a bit more thinking I think I am just going to go with what I know and that is glass over plywood construction. Divinycell and coosa sound like great products and I was hoping to do just the stringers with it but it wouldn't make much sense to have foam...

    Farallon 25 rebuild

Thanks, I'm petty excited about the project. Bearddog629- I like the idea of a building a mold but I think I am going to "pick my battles" with this one. I have considered divinycell but it will double my cost on the build... Speaking of which can anyone recommend a lamination schedule for...

    Farallon 25 rebuild

Here we go! Just picked up a 1979 25' Farallon gutted from the cabin aft. The plan is to rebuild with forward facing windows and a cummins 6BTA 370 paired with a ZF 220v "Remote". The hull is as solid as they come at almost an inch thick, looking forward to having a capable fishing machine...
