    15.5 Livingston

Little more work today. Hours add up really fast just on the demo. Ripping more apart - foam and fun. Almost to a bare hull. The idea process is killing me. I want to rebuild it right, weight is an issue, and expensive. Here is more gutting photos. I’m not in a rush because I can’t settle on...

    15.5 Livingston

Finally after a few months, I’m back at it.

    15.5 Livingston

Livingston did some weird things to each boat! What year is yours? My buddy just picked up a 1997 warrior and inside his boat has zero foam as well.. I didn’t check for a stringer though. His layout is so much different than mine and its pretty much stock. I’d love to see your progress photos of...

    15.5 Livingston

These are the only photos that kinda show the foam that was in between the walls.. super brittle stuff, but on the deck what you’re seeing is the fiberglass stuck to the foam underneath that had to all get pulled. Feel free to share if it helps others.. I had no idea what was underneath or how...

    15.5 Livingston

There is foam between the walls.. it looks like the foam under the deck is completely different than the foam in between the walls. I had to take the entire deck and everything up because the fiberglass had started to separate from the wood, but adhered to the foam so much I couldn’t do anything...

    15.5 Livingston

I should have one let me check.. if not I still have the other side to take out so I could take more and better ones.

    My 15.5 Livingston

It lives to see new seas! I guess? That is crazy, the old owner posted on this thread I believe. A 90 will be way too big for this boat. The 70 is perfect. @4500 I’m scooting pretty around 16-22 mph on my gps. I don’t need to go that much faster with 2-3 people full tank cooler full of ice...

    15.5 Livingston

Working slow because I don’t know what is under, but today filled almost 4 contractor bags full of old and wet foam from.. each bag weighing about 30 lbs. each (just from the starboard side). Tomorrow I will try and get the rest of the boat cleared out now that I have a better idea what’s down...

    15.5 Livingston

Couldn’t separate the inner layer from the hull, so I cut a 2” x 4” hole to find wet plywood (no surprise), cut more to find more water damage.. now tearing up the entire deck. No use trying to save anything. Ground up from a fresh 15.5 hull is the plan.

    15.5 Livingston

Took the motor off today.. that took a good portion of the morning and in this situation should have been a 2 person job. That hoist hooked up to the truck is tough to use alone (maybe for outboard removals only). The reach on that arm is so short when jacked up to the height to remove the motor...

    15.5 Livingston

Got myself a new 6” sander and a truck hitch hoist to pull the motor alone during these lockdown times. Says it lifts 500#/750#/1000# so I’m sure it’ll be just fine to lift a 250# motor. now I’ll be able to pull the motor, remove the top cap, pull the decking, and see what’s underneath. I’ve...

    15.5 Livingston

Yeah I’m pulling the entire boat apart. It’s tough to know without seeing haha.. excitement.

    15.5 Livingston

A game changer showed up today. Portable power I give two thumbs up. Costco special that runs great and has a powerful/quiet eco mode that still runs all my power tools/shop vac on. Few more toys on the way.
  14. JoeyH650

    15.5 Livingston

Honestly I’m not either.. I had the 14’ before this one but that’s a shell of a boat. It seems filled of foam. There’s some weaker points on the deck and I thought maybe I’d put some pumps in.. so I found the middle of the boat where I thought no foam would be.. and there was still foam. Never...

    A side by side idea.
  16. JoeyH650

    15.5 Livingston

Going over ideas.. over and over and over. Because it is still only a 15.5 boat, I want to keep practical and still as a center console, but I really love the layout of the boat because it works for the type of fishing we do locally. I would like to reduce the wind in my face without going full...

    15.5 Livingston

Few more hours of work today. Took all the rigging off for the steering and motor (still can’t get the steering wheel off it’s so frozen on), got the motor stand in place, a lot of weed-wackin around the boat. I’m at a standstill until I get the motor off and get the deck layer out for the real...

    15.5 Livingston

Took a few days off for my birthday/Easter weekend and all I could think about was getting back at it. Today I removed the center console, the entire rub rail (and all the rivets that went with it), and separated the top cap/rails for the boat. I think I mentioned years ago I rebuilt the bow rub...

    15.5 Livingston

Didn’t want to get really into it further today with not the best rainy weather.. so I stood home and did some more research and also made a motor stand for my 70 Yamaha. It weighs 253 lbs. and I’m pretty sure if my boat in the condition it’s in now can hold it... this will too. Hopefully...

    15.5 Livingston

Lockdown Progress Update: today I removed all electronics, stainless rails, recessed rod holders, t-top, batteries and labeled all cables, antenna, deck lights, wiring, kicker bracket, gas tank, seat, windshield. Still have to figure out how to lift and remove the motor considering the...

Wtf?!? This boat got stolen after you finished it? Did you get it back? I’m sorry to hear about that man.

    15.5 Livingston

I saw a photo of this boat floating around the internet and have been trying to find more. That’s awesome! I haven’t seen many with the wide rails. How do you like riding that far forward in the 15? Looks like the boat sits nice sitting in the water. Awesome build and looks like the boat was in...

    15.5 Livingston

Stryker T-Top is the company. California based I believe. I love that thing and nice strong frame. They make a bunch of pretty cool products if you haven’t checked them out. I wish the powder coating lasted a little longer outside, but it does it’s job as a t-top! Haha
  25. JoeyH650

    15.5 Livingston

I would love to see a photo of your 15.. I like to see any of them that I can since there’s not many!
  26. JoeyH650

    15.5 Livingston

Nice! I will be ripping up the deck = taking the ttop, console, seat, etc up and out, all the foam, redo the stringers, transom, deck, bigger center console to block a littttle bit of wind. I love the center console in the little boat and don’t want to cab it out. But I want to add a fish box in...

    15.5 Livingston

Definitely worthy! That’s awesome.. I don’t frequent these forums much but I’m going to try and be more active.
  28. JoeyH650

    15.5 Livingston

Issues with the boat: it’s old and has been used! It needs a new deck (soft spots), foam, splash well, pretty much everything.
  29. JoeyH650

    15.5 Livingston

I’ve had this boat for a few years. It’s a 1975 15.5’ Livingston and when I purchased the boat it had water in the hull issues and for the past 4 years I’ve just patching and plugging issues. The options were to give it to someone and have them re-do it and fix it properly... or do it myself...

I had that as well on the 115, but it did not help at all. A brand new 4 stroke helped though haha

    My 15.5 Livingston

That’s awesome! I’d love to see photos of your ride sometime. I’ve only seen a few other 15.5 but none with the wide rails.. I think this was an earlier prototype model before the Warrior really came out. But the 70 is more than enough. The 90 is a whole different/bigger/heavier motor, but...

    My 15.5 Livingston

Cruising speed is around 16-22 and top is about 24-27. That 70 makes this boat move. And it’s a gas sipper too. Depending on the load/water/etc im getting Around 5mpg. Im hoping to fish soon I’ll get some photos of the numbers and post them up
  35. JoeyH650

    My 15.5 Livingston

I’m a pretty big fan of these boats. I’ve owned the 14 special edition and then stepped it up a whole foot and a half to the 1975 15.5’ about 3 years ago. I fish another 14’ off Pedro docks still so I get my small boat fix haha.. the 15.5 is the biggest little boat. I love this thing here’s some...

    Line for my Stella 18000

hey everyone.. purchased the stella 18000 a few years back. Post your 1801

Nice! How’d you like the 150? A lot of people run the 115, but i was curious if you’d get better mpg? Or would it be too much.. but looks like you used that set up
  39. JoeyH650

    Post your 1801

Recently fell in love with the 1801. For here in Northern California.. Mostly inshore salmon and halibut fishing with the occasional 30 mile run to search for tuna and it being affordable and a great boat to tow/store.. and bring a fan of Parker this seems like the most practical route. I don’t...

  42. JoeyH650

    Parker video?

Speed is not the issue, I’m used to only being able to do 8-12 knots in waters around here. Very rarely can I run wide open..i am in a smaller boat now, but protection from the environment, fishing deck space, but an uncomfortable ride regardless isn’t fun. But again if it’s that messed up I...

    Parker video?

hey all..just wondering if anyone has or know where to see video clips of Parker boats running in not lake like conditions. I live in Northern California and not in the smoothest waters around usually and not too many Parkers around. A new boat in the future and Wondering if that’s the reason...

What’s your favorite beer? I owe you a case..thank you very much for taking the time to write that up and dial someone in, as much as you can via internet, and for someone you don’t even know. That answered a lot of questions and then some. Thanks to everyone too who wrote back

    Channel Islands help

    Channel Islands help

Thank you that’s badass info! I’m hoping you’re optimistic outlook is right haha I’d love some wsb and yellows. Got plenty of jigs to drop and toss too. Sounds like I don’t have to spend much money on getting ready which is awesome. 30-40# line pretty typical for sea bass and that kind of fishing?

Yellowtail is primarily what we’re going for I’m told , but I’m sure rockfish will be on the dinner plate as well. I know he’s a huge swordfish and tuna guy.. that’s his bread and butter.. Friday 13th HMB tuna

Left HMB around 4 am and a long beautiful 90 mile ride south past the Davidson. Started fishing around 9:30 am. Water from 57-62 degrees, but no real break, but most beautiful blue water. Very light wind. Didn’t hear any radio talk all day, never saw another boat all day. Saw some jumpers when...

    What 2320 Parker?

Awesome input thank you guys.. any ‘interior’ major or minor things? Besides normal wear and tear if the boat is in good safe condition.. buying an older model and updating it might not be a bad way to go..

    •HMB tuna and Pacifica salmon•

With absolutely glass water and tuna fever setting in, the warm clear waterpush, I couldn’t resist not trying. A comfortable ride out towards the pioneer. Cloudy ride out and soon after we were trolling the sunshine came out. A pretty good temp break from 57 degrees up to almost 62 degrees...
