    Long Range Give Aways

I go on trips for this fishing. Over the years I have received swag and prizes such as rods, reels, reel bags, jig bags, cool bags, misc bags, line, braid and lots of terminal tackle. Although greatly appreciated and used, I would still go on trips as I go for the fishing and comraderie.
  30. reellady

    Marking braid with a sharpie?

    I use markers for my line also, 1 mark = 100, 2 marks = 200, 3 marks = 300.
  31. reellady

Has This Ever Happened to You?

I set my drag at 27#. I never go to full strike on a hit. I start halfway, and sometimes the fish come in and the reel never went to full strike. If they want to turn and run there is less pressure on the fish and you can handle the fish.

    Slowest trip in 5 years

That's why it is called fishing. I have read this a couple of times and feel that I must comment. Sorry if I offend anyone, but I have been LR fishing for years and can't keep quiet any longer. With the new sanction on Clarion Island, the best place for big tuna is Hurricane Bank. As 4...

Anyone tried a double trouble below a bobber balloon?

3 together, no current but wind, tangle with kite 3 times on trip, wind batting them around tangling with others that have bait swimming, drags right across them going out.
  292. reellady

Anyone tried a double trouble below a bobber balloon?

Heck, I have seen people use 3 balloons and tangle after tangle. Lots of anglers getting upset but boat never told him to stop.

**ck trip canceled, anyone fish the Melton 12 day on the Excel?

i told the RR to sign me up for that 10 day, but when Maria said they were going to shorten it, I called Jason and was able to get on the BIG x 16 day. Didn'r really want the 10 but was going to settle since I had to cancel the RR 15 day because of medical.
  294. reellady

Anyone tried a double trouble below a bobber balloon?

As Soda Pop said, only a few are very good at the balloons. I have seen many let there balloon get tangled with the kite bait, then all has to be reset. I have also seen many balloons pull and tangle many lines of other anglers at once reeling the balloon in.

    Bait on long range

Looks good to me, I would probably leave #3 at home. But I take a full quiver on my trips, yes overkill, but I would rather have the need and have, then to need and not have.

DONNA HERE>>>> Yes I posted that stupid rumor about the rocks, and yes it was a RUMOR told to me from another boat. It was bogus and I regretted posting that and immediately took it down, but not before it got quoted. I apologize to all for my irresponsibility in this. I ride the Intrepid...

    Deposits?

    Legal if properly advertised.

    Like Ultra Ultra limited load?

Would be nice, but at my age, cost is a factor. Instead of limited load for a high price for 15 days, I could spend that money on two 15 day trips. I can catch plenty of fish and cows with a full load of anglers, probably the same amount on a limited load as there is a limit on how many we can...

    Deposits?

Credit card charge last year was 3.5%.

    2015-2016 Cow trips booked

Soda, you are a little short on your days on the water. You need to book a few more trips to keep your record number of days spent on the water.

    2015-2016 Cow trips booked

We all need to get together and work something out so we can all fish together again.

I paid the extra expediting fee when I found out mine was expired even though my trip was months away. I got back in 2 weeks. Got to grease those palms up front.

Fancy beer on multi day trips

Heck, we bring bloody mary mixes, margarita mixes, ipa, pacifico, rum, brandy etc etc etc. All good, just keep in your room and the boat will let you have all the ice you want. Just make sure you bring enough for the entire boat.

    PL68 and Man-Bait?

I personally would not use that much. 25 yards can be purchased reasonably and will give you 75 feet.
  609. reellady

Making bait for the next trip

If it was the first night out and you had to make bait to fish the next day, you wouldn't cry over a couple of bucks for a sabiki. OK, the previous trip made bait for you so you could start fishing immediately. What's the big deal? About the cost of a beer or soda? Get real and start wearing...
