I learned something new today! I will look forward to that piece of salmon! Hey wait a sec.. Are bbq'd pig brains kosher?? LOL

    Dry brine smoked salmon

FYI Benjamin, 99% of 'Kosher salt' has nothing in it but salt. No Iodine, no anti-caking crap, nothing. That's why it's 'Kosher'. I mentioned I only use Mediterranean sea salt for similar reasons. It's got nothing else in it and I think it tastes better. Eric, here's why I prefer the dry...

    Sand Dabs Area 2 ??

Ya know.. I read it prior to going to Sekiu, as I wanted to be sure I could get rockfish/lingcod in A4 and land them in A5. Now I can't find it. **Edit.. It's in the 'You May Not' section on page 6, go figure I couldn't locate it! Fish for, or harvest fish or shellfish in an area with catch...

    Sand Dabs Area 2 ??

Regs this year are pretty straight forward. Fish and catch in one area, land in another is ok, but don’t stop in the second area, and don’t think you can double up on take in one day.

    Sand Dabs Area 2 ??

There's like a trillion sand dabs out there, you know, where it's sandy! A little chunk of herring on a mooching rig in 100 fow should do the trick. I'm sure someone has a more specific location.

    Swiftsure / Neah Bay

Chinook fishing at Sekiu was as good as I've seen it in years last weekend. Made the run out to cape flattery for some rockfish, chatter on the radio from swiftsure wasn't great. Did a bunch of scouting on the way out and back, caught mostly coho. Tons of bait scattered all along the straight...

Understandable as that's probably going to be a halibut opener.

    Dry brine smoked salmon

Ryan, I do mine pretty much the same; I prefer Mediterranean sea salt, and I season with black pepper, garlic powder, crushed red pepper flakes and ginger powder, while it's in the drying (pellicle) phase. Adding spices in the brine.. they just seem to get lost, IMO.

    4th @ Sekiu

I would think so, but I'm not sure what the quota for A5 even is. Regardless, I think the fishing should pick up at Swiftsure by then if you choose to run out there. I wouldn't wait until August though!

    4th @ Sekiu

Hey boys and girls.. I make it up there most 4th's and stay at a buddies cabin near Eagle Point. Who's headed that way next week/weekend?

    wtb Rehau 2080 style fittings

I have gotten those (I think this is the same stuff) at Keller supply in Auburn. If nothing else, I have a Milwaukee pex expander with 1/2. 3/4, & 1" dies you could borrow. I barely use it, as I'm not a plumber! (I've had to make pex to irrigation connections more than once inside houses) The...

    Ace Pot Puller Wiring

My own solution-- I ran an independent 6/2 tinned wire from the batt switch to a larger fuse block in the helm, then a leg of 10/2 to each d/r outlet. 40A blades for each one. Haven't blown one yet; use for d/r's, puller, squid lights, and (yes, I finnaly caved and bought a pair) electric reels...
