How to caulk bait tank? 4200 or silicone?

Life caulk is the best for bait tanks. It remains pliable but strong unless you need to cut it away. 4200 is good but a little too tough for a non permanent install. 5200 should not be used. Silicone will easily separate and not recommended.

What Ever Happened To Stand-up Rods?

If you want a fighting chance on stand up gear without wearing out your left arm, you need one of these. It don't matter the size the of the rod, 6', 5.5', 5', 6.5' But you need to maintain leverage on heavy drag over 25lbs. If you're not braced for a sudden run you can either get pinned to...

What Ever Happened To Stand-up Rods?

I fish on my own boat or friend's boats and have a high end tanaguchi belt/harness that I can strap into. I personally can't fish that under the armpit style.

    Offshore Kite fish question

I hope it's ok to tell you I dont give a fuck if I have 100 * by my name. I come from a commercial fishing background which means loading the boat by all legal means necessary. Meat fishing is meat fishing. When you jump on a boat going for BFT, you are meat fishing. When you load your reel...

Nah, they should have let you take that fish and culled your small one to another angler who hadn't caught anything. Yall still fish for boat limits right?

Heartbreaker that you lost that fish, but it keeps us coming back for more. Look at it this way, you had a better day than 90% of the people on this site reading from their computer.

I'd hate to think Blubby's drag was set to 7lbs. but i've seen it more often that not, many fishermen simply dont know how to set the drag with a spring scale. If the weakest line on the reel is 80lb test then i'd hope your drag was set to at least 20lb but more like 24-25lb of drag. On stand...

    Fish processors maxed out

I gotta say. Getting rid of fish carcasses in San Diego vs the Bay Area are night and day. In the bay, almost all harbors have dumpsters to dump the carcass. Here in San Diego, you gotta be clever or sneaky. I have tricks up my sleeve but can’t post them… lol.

It's also easier to learn how to cut and process the fish yourself, (I do).
