    Hello RodRage, Newbie here, making my way to Catalina on Monday. I have fished the island on charter boats and just got a 19 ft Valco Bayrunner and wanted to connect with someone who has fished Catalina frequently. I am leaving from San Pedro and wondered if you could advise of a few spots that may produce. Steve

    That’s a bad ass hull you have there, i’m still a novice under my own power at the island but we have luck on the east end and around back to the vees and church rock for yellowtail then we usually go back by the rock quarry and fish for bass and maybe lucky yellow tail by mid day are usually head up towards two harbors and fish that area before heading home because you have the wind at your back home

    90 feet ridge all the way around the island is the best place to look for yellow tail
