    Sheephead, steamed

Probably I shouldn't call it a recipe, as this fish tastes so good with any method:p Due to its size and the thickness of the fillet, we had to improve the way to steam it. It's not the authentic way, but it's the best tasting way to steam it in our experience! Enjoy

From Mike and sealskinner's replies, Bonny Dick looks to have a strong root in this forum.

Haha, you've got a nick name for her, way easier to remember than the official name. It's indeed sad to see such a big loss. I was really concerned about the fuel initially. Luckily it's under control now.

My fishing buddy was concerned about the impact to bay fishing in SD after watching the fire from news, and got a big relief after checking out conditions around the pier and beach in person. Tight lines

3 methods to reduce fishy smell

Thanks for the idea of baking soda. Will try it out next time to remove the algae smell. The fillet was from grocery store, the frozen one, which was far worse than the fresh fillet.

3 methods to reduce fishy smell

My friends asked whether it's possible to make frozen fish taste as good as freshly caught fish. It's hard but we gave it a try. Here are the 3 most popular methods and let's see which works the best through experiments. Enjoy!

Here is the story behind why I started cooking and eating mackerel. When traveling in japan, I fell in love with this a Japanese dish called saba-yaki, essentially grilled pacific mackerel. It went so well with beer or sake. That triggered me to find out what's the best way to reproduce the...

Lake Hodges to reopen and here is my favorite rig for it

Yeah, I bet. My friend mentioned that the algae smell is strong, so I suggested him soak the fillet in salt water for a few minutes to reduce the taste. Probably I should compile a video on how to reduce the fishy smell
