Southern California okuma metaloid vs shimano speed master

I just bought a speedmaster to try out i really dont think theres anyone with enough experience on the speedmaster 8 yet

I would probably post this in fishing chit chat. You will get more responses there I think. I have never had a metaloid. I like my speedmaster 8ii a lot so far. Let’s see if thr Fathom over takes it.

how is the clicker on it is it smooth

how is the clicker on it is it smooth? not rough?

The clicker is fine on the Speedmaster. It does not feel rough to me. Shimano if anything is known for being smooth.

Ditched the Metaloid as it’s discontinued. I had fished it with my Andros and prone to slipping drag issues. If you wanna go Okuma route, grab the CAVALLA instead. Machined aluminum frame plus better drag curve and great price point.

Speedmaster is a good choice too if you like Shimano. I have a SPM 12II and no issue so far.
