I used a kicker for years and years--and because of two occasions only, I never needed a tow. But I always had tow insurance, so maybe you can do OK without it. But have you thought about putting a water sump somewhere as counterbalance?

I've thought about everything. Only thing I can do is spend another 4 grand on a larger full flotation bracket. But I. Trying to cut down on weight. Adding to balance seems like I'd just be adding weight. My swimstep is just above water line rt now. It drags when trolling. Adding more weight sinks it more. I'm going to add a minkota 36v urtella trolling motor with spotlock. Has 101 lb thristvo believe. I know someone with one. They sat on a spot fir 10 hrs in high winds. So if needed it will get u back in just as gd as a 10hp motor.
