Huge Albino Sturgeon
As if it is not rare enough to catch a giant sturgeon well over 1000-pounds, charter captain, Chad Helmer caught an albino white sturgeon that was 11-feet 2-inches with a 5-foot girth.
This would most likely make it the biggest albino sturgeon ever caught in the world.
Even if not true albino, the coloration is highly unusual and amazing.
Chad Helmer runs trips for sturgeon and more in the Fraser River of British Columbia and his family has been catching sturgeon here for 40 years. “We’ve never seen one like that before”, he told the The Province, “It was wicked and unbelievable.”
