How To Catch Rockfish Using Artificial Lures

Using artificial lures to target rockfish isn’t only much more enjoyable than using bait, with the right lures you can isolate the bigger bites that you’ll want when filling your limit. Oftentimes, the smaller rockfish are so aggressive that you end up hooking them first almost immediately.  By going with larger artificial lures, you can filter out many of the smaller fish and entice a bite from the largest predator in the immediate area.  This is one way we are able to filter out the bycatch when targeting larger rockfish and ling.

So put away the big tackle and heavy sinkers and grab your bass rod and have some fun loading up on quality rockfish.
