In the age of today clips and edits are likely to be featured in social media first and foremost. We digest content at an insatiable rate and sometimes effort and creativity get put to the wayside. That’s why this project immediately caught our attention and got us excited to check it out. It is refreshing to see the effort, patience, and creativity put into a film. While here at BD Outdoors fly fishing is not our forte, at the root of our passion we see the crossover and can appreciate this project for its great fishing footage, history, and topic.
This film, co-sponsored by Costa & Simms, as well as the American Museum of Fly Fishing, was originally part of the 2021 Fly Fishing Film Tour. The award-winning film Mighty Waters, highlights Bahamian fishing legend Ansil Saunders. In Bimini, an island in the Bahamas, Martin Luther King found a friend in Ansil Saunders. Four days before the assassination of MLK, they sat in Ansil’s boat, sharing psalms while Dr. King worked on his final speech – “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop.” In the newest Cold Collaborative film, “Mighty Waters,” Ansil visits the spot he had taken MLK as well as visits the global change he’s seen and hopes to see in the world.
